Bird control

Birds such as pigeons, gulls, crows and many other wild birds can cause serious damage to a building's structure. In addition to their noise and smell, nesting and roosting birds bring with them a host of crawling, biting and blood-sucking insects. Not only can many species of bird carry diseases that can prove fatal to humans, but even their droppings, when under-foot can cause serious injury through slips, trips and falls. As well as bird control and proofing, we offer a service for the removal of bird-fouling.

Our professional and experienced team can supply, install and maintain a range of effective, unobtrusive and humane systems designed to safeguard your property and working environment.

The post and wire system

This type of bird system is based on a stainless steel post riveted into the building. A nylon coated stainless steel wire is then fitted to the posts, this would be fit direct onto leading edges of the areas that needs protecting. This system is a low pressure system to stop birds from landing on edges.

The spike system

This consists of stainless steel spikes that are glued onto ledges that need to be protected. The correct size of spike should be used for the type of bird and the size of the ledge you need to protect. This is a good system and l works on medium and heavy pressure areas to stop birds from landing and nesting.

Net systems

Bird netting systems can be used against any of the urban pest species. When fitted properly, with the correct mesh size for the species of bird, a net will keep even the most persistent of birds out of the heaviest bird pressure sites. The nets can be fit vertically, horizontally or basically any size.

Avishock system

This is an electric bird system and is now widely used to deal with all pressures of bird infestation on traditionally difficult to proof sites, thanks to its low profile and flexibility. This system is practically invisible from the ground looking up, so is therefore ideal on buildings that nets and spikes would look to be an eyesore. The system works on an energiser powering up a rubber/copper track, enabling the birds to receive a small shock should they land on it. The birds are not harmed but this has proved very successful as once a bird has landed on the track it will not land on this area again.

Optical gel

This is an innovative bird control system that keeps pest birds off structures without harming them, whilst maintaining the aesthetics of the structure. As the visual spectrum of pest birds includes ultraviolet, this formula appears to the bird as fire and therefore the bird will not approach this area.

Nest destruction and decoy eggs

This is for seagulls only and imitation eggs are used to replace the laid eggs.  This is a successful method to control urban gulls. This needs to be monitored over the egg laying season to maintain that the gulls do not have any successful egg lays. When the eggs are finally rejected, the nests are abandoned without replacement eggs.

Pigeon control

A culling programme and trapping programme, these have proved very successful in getting the numbers of birds down. If customers wish to ring and discuss this further then please ring in to discuss the treatment.

Specialist cleaning

In line with the bird work, as it has been proven, birds make an awful lot of mess. They generate large amounts of droppings and related guano waste on external areas of buildings, inside roof spaces and basically anywhere where they can sit. We offer a full service, whereby we firstly treat all the droppings making them safe to be handled, we then remove all waste material from site, jet wash and clean the area and finally sanitise and fumigate where necessary.
